02 April, 2017, 01:15 | Author: Patsy Dennis

Longtime NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson-whose first space mission was in 2002-just became the female astronaut with the most spacewalks under her belt. In response, a team from the Mission Control Center at NASA's Johnson Space Center began monitoring the shield as it drifted.

During 4 hours and 23 minutes into the mission, Whitson broke the record for spacewalking time by a woman astronaut with a total of 53 hours and 22 minutes.

UConn Womens Basketball: End of the Largest winning streak
UConn rallied from a 16-point deficit, its biggest during its NCAA record streak, to take a 59-56 lead in the fourth quarter. Vivians had 19 points, William had 13, Richardson had 12 and McCowan finished with 10 for the Bulldogs (34-4).

NASA said the loss of the shield posed no danger to the astronauts, and the cloth cover's trajectory put it on a track that will eventually end with it burning up during atmospheric re-entry.

Thursday's spacewalk lasted seven hours.

Republican voters, Trump's primary base, approved of his performance by 79-10%, while independent voters approved by 34-52%. Republicans are also slightly more likely to oppose than favor cutting Medicaid funding, 43 percent to 35 percent.

On April 6, Whitson will extend her record when she heads outside of the Space Station for her ninth spacewalk. She has surpassed the 50-hour, 40-minute mark of accumulated spacewalking time, previously set by former station resident Sunita Williams. On Thursday, the 57-year-old specialist set off along with space station commander Shane Kimbrough, to perform a series of operations for the International Space Station. It's the eight spacewalk for Whitson aboard the International Space Station (ISS). She managed to accumulate more than 500 days lived in space which is more than any other woman has ever experienced.

The docking port will serve as a "parking spot" for upcoming space missions and will help companies to transport its crews.

When it comes being an astronaut, one of the most important requirements is flexibility - the ability to adapt to unexpected situations and come up with solutions on the fly. Marcia Dunn for the Associated Press said that this lost shielding protected the station from micrometeorite debris. She is scheduled to return to Earth in June, but is now looking to extend her space stay until September, should the USA secure an extra seat on the Russian spacecraft Soyuz, scheduled to return to the planet that same month. Moreover, she might return to the board of the Russian spacecraft Soyuz.
