Trump has offered "conceptual approval" on the purchase of billions of dollars' worth of USA military weapons and equipment by South Korea.

Following Pyongyang's test on Sunday, Abe spoke to Putin over the phone, and reminded him of the important role Russian Federation can play as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in reigning in North Korea.

Beijing fears that completely cutting off North Korea could lead to its collapse, unleashing a wave of refugees into China's northeast.

"North Korea´s nuclear and missile development is at a new stage of grave and imminent threats", Onodera told Mattis, the ministry said, adding that his USA counterpart shared the view.

The White House says Trump and Merkel "condemned North Korea's continued reckless and risky behavior" and reaffirmed the importance of close coordination at the United Nations.

Another North Korean missile launch expected this weekend
Putin said Pyongyang would not end its nuclear and missile programs because it viewed them as its only means of self-defense. Yonhap reported that the South Korean military conducted a drill on September 4, launching missiles into the Sea of Japan.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley argued forcefully for harsher sanctions, saying, "enough is enough", and that Kim was "begging for war".

"All options to address the North Korean threat are on the table", the White House said.

Their conversation came days after North Korea's latest - and most powerful - nuclear test.

Mr Putin told him the North Korean problem should be solved diplomatically, according to Seoul's presidential office. "But we will not be putting up with what's happening in North Korea", he said.

On Thursday, the South Korean president will hold bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe before attending the third Eastern Economic Forum, an economic summit aimed at promoting regional cooperation in the development of the Russian Far East.

Civilian killed, 13 injured in Jehangir Chowk grenade attack
According to police, the grenade missed its target and exploded near a rickshaw on road. "We are trying to verify this", he said. In a failed attempt on Wednesday, a group of terrorists attacked a police post in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Russian Federation condemns North Korea's nuclear test as "provocative", Putin told a televised news conference in China.

China, along with Russian Federation, has advocated for a so-called "freeze for freeze" approach, under which North Korea would cease conducting nuclear and missile tests in exchange for the United States and South Korea ending longstanding joint military exercises - a proposal that Haley has called "insulting". The communist state has also staged nine missile tests since the new South Korean leader took office in May. They also both agreed that the latest test was a grave provocation that was "unprecedented". The two leaders spoke for approximately 40 minutes by phone.

North Korea claims it now has the capability of mounting a thermonuclear weapon on a long-range missile capable of striking the United States.

Putin, however, on Tuesday said the agreed number of Russian and USA diplomatic staff "includes 155 people working for the United Nations".

China, which accounts for roughly 90 percent of North Korea's global trade, has slammed Trump's suggestion, calling it "unacceptable" and "unfair".

Should Bill de Blasio Be Re-Elected as Mayor?
They also clashed on the statue of Christopher Columbus and the mayor's new committee reviewing all statues in the city. He's so proud of his record that "you'd assume they'd be having parades out in the streets", the New York Post reports.
