As of 11:00 a.m. this morning, the National Hurricane Center placed Jose at 305 miles northeast of the Turks and Caicos Islands, moving northward at 9 mph. Make sure to check back for updates on Hurricane Jose throughout the week. "Despite the complex forecast track, this general solution is shared by all the reliable model guidance", said hurricane forecasters, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Warm Tropical Atlantic sea temperatures are likely to lead to a very active hurricane season.

Hurricane Jose, a Category 2 storm with winds of 105 miles per hour, is on a path that theoretically could bring it near the Bahamas by Saturday. That swell is now moving closer to the East Coast with rising wave heights on the West Bermuda buoy (41048) and the Northeast Bahamas buoy (41047) this morning.

This past weekend, Irma, a devastating Category 4 hurricane, swept up over the Florida Keys and then up Florida's Gulf Coast, becoming the third of this season's four catastrophic Atlantic hurricanes.

Joe D'Aleo, chief meteorologist for Weatherbell Analytics, said some models show that Jose will go up the East Coast and stay well off the coast of New England.

Latest forecast models are struggling to track the hurricane's exact path, but the tail-end of the storm could bring some unstable conditions to the United Kingdom in about 10 days time. Obviously there are significant track errors that far out so we will just need to monitor the situation over the coming week.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center of the tropical cyclone and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km).

The Hurricane Center will continue monitoring its progression, Feltgen said. The season runs from June 1 to November 30.
