The pure electric portion has a 13.8-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery.

The GLC F-Cell is said to be destined for series production and is the first emission free vehicle in the world to combine fuel-cell and battery technology as a plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Like many other European automakers, Mercedes-Benz is making a substantive push toward electrifying its line-up in the wake of multiple problems with diesel engines.

How powerful are these electric motors?

First Israel-Africa summit called off following boycott threats
Africa is considered by Israel, as it is by the rest of the world, to be a potentially huge export market. Israel has diplomatic relations with 40 out of 48 countries in southern Africa.

The drive programs of the GLC F-CELL will include Eco, Comfort and Sport.

It's also technically a plug-in hybrid fuel cell/BEV, because the lithium-ion battery can be recharged from either a wall socket or a charging station to deliver more battery range. With 4.4 kg of hydrogen on board, in two carbon-fibre tanks, the GLC F-Cell reminds us of the B-Class F-Cell vehicle.

Mercedes is showing off a pre-production version of the GLC F-Cell at the IAA International Motor Show in Frankfurt.

The new model is really an upgraded version of Daimler's B-Class F-Cell, which has been on the market since 2010. Another big step forward has been a 90-percent reduction in the amount of platinum Mercedes-Benz needs in its fuel cell, which lowers its production costs enormously.

Lindelof will be a success at Man Utd - Berg
He had been a bit of an unknown prior to that. "He got into the Benfica team because of injury and they started winning". Jose Mourinho expects Victor Lindelof to develop into a key player for him.

"Our electric initiative is gathering pace: by 2022, Mercedes will have launched more than 10 all-electric vehicles".

With another 10 pure BEVs planned to launch before 2022, Daimler hopes that defining the GLC F-Cell as a plug-in hybrid will convince people it's a family-friendly practical auto. The hydrogen storage tanks are made from carbon fiber. Built into the GLC's floor, they can be fully refueled in only three minutes - about the same time as a conventional gasoline - or diesel-powered vehicle. Battery mode lets the vehicle run on the battery alone. Honda introduced its fuel-cell Clarity last December, and that vehicle is available only to lease ($369 a month with a $2,868 down payment).

The EQA, in concept form at any rate, is actually pretty sporty, using two electric motors, one for the front wheels and one for the rears, to produce a healthy 270hp.

A dedicated F-Cell mode keeps the battery's charge high and runs the auto on its fuel cell nearly entirely, while the Battery mode does the opposite and runs as a pure BEV.

500k join campaign to "shoot down" Hurricane Irma
The description of the event read: "Everyone takes their fans outside and points them at Hurricane Irma to blow it away from us". More than 6m people in Florida were urged to evacuate as Irma approached, though some chose to sit it out.

Specifically styled bumpers, with an enlarged air inlet at the front, as well as aerodynamically optimised 20-inch wheels are the hallmarks of the vehicles on show at Frankfurt.
