Apple quietly raises prices of iPad Pro

GettyThe announcement of new iPhones may be flooding your newsfeed, but one update Apple didn't mention on stage was an iPad Pro price increase.

9to5Mac reported that the 256 GB iPad Pro 10.5 has increased in price from $749 to $799, while the 512GB variant has been priced at $999 from its original price of $949.

As of yesterday, all of the high-capacity 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models cost $50 more than they did at launch. The 64 GB models on these iPads are now at the same cost.

"Both the 256GB and 512GB configurations of the 10.5" and 12.9" iPad Pro are now $50 more expensive at Apple stores, with other retailers following suit.

Apple didn't provide an immediate explanation for why it hiked prices, but a report from Reuters in June suggested that there's a global storage on DRAM and NAND memory chips, which provide the storage in iPads.

Thankfully, the 64GB variants of iPad Pro have not got any price jump.
