  • Destiny 2 update: New patch notes confirmed following Bungie server downtime

Bungie has removed a gauntlet in Destiny 2 for looking too similar to a hate symbol, the company announced today.

While Destiny 2 has been well received by veterans and new players alike, the community has begun to worry about incoming downgrades to public events, thanks largely in part to the extreme backlash that has plagued Bungie since players discovered what the Strike and Crucible reward system would be like.

If a player has trouble logging back into Destiny 2 after the hotfix has been implemented, they should try clearing their console cache, power cycling their network hardware or read through the Bungie's network troubleshooting guide.

"This does NOT represent our values". The Destiny 2 gauntlets are the Hunter Road Complex AA1s.

The gauntlets bare a clear reference to the "Kek" or "Kekistan" logo that is used by white supremacists, neo-Nazis and the so-called alt-right movement.

The Destiny 2 item's similarity to the Kekistan flag follows many other neo-Nazi campaigns to sneak white nationalist iconography into pop culture-in ways that could be explained away or excused, no less. It's why many are still concerned that this has happened in the first place. "We are removing it", the developer said over Twitter.
