DUSU election result trends: NSUI leading on three seats, ABVP on one

The Congress-linked NSUI or National Students Union of India has won the top two posts in the Delhi University Students Union, leaving two for its rival Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which is linked to the BJP.

DUSU election 2017 Results: ABVP Candidates Rajat Choudhary has nominated for the posts of president, Parth Rana was nominated for the posts of vice-president, and Mahamedha was nominated for the post of general secretary.

Latest media report suggests that the counting of the votes has already been started and is underway.

The NSUI has fielded Rocky Tuseed for the president's post, Kunal Sehrawat for the post of vice-president, Meenakshi Meena for secretary and Avinash Yadav for joint secretary. Representatives of major students' political outfits were among those present outside counting centre.

Elections to the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) were conducted across several colleges amid tight security on Tuesday.This year, the polls saw an increase in turnout with 42.8% students coming out to vote.
