"It is clear that it is impossible to solve the problems of the Korean Peninsula by sanctions alone and pressure", the president said at the economic forum in Vladivostok, following talks with his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-In.

Although China did not explicitly mention sanctions, the comment came as the USA pushed for economic restrictions on the North and specifically its leader, Kim Jong Un.

Mexico's foreign ministry condemned Pyongyang's nuclear activities, calling them a serious risk to worldwide peace and security and a growing threat to the region.including fundamental allies of Mexico such as South Korea and Japan.

His words come just days after North Korea tested what the USA believes was a thermonuclear or hydrogen bomb.
