With the recent headlines that he would "bench" players for not standing during the National Anthem at NFL games, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not going to answer any "what if's" in regards to the possibility of players kneeling during the presentation of the American flag.
Jones was responding to a question about Vice-President Mike Pence's pricy stunt, in which he attended Sunday's Colts and 49ers game just so he could walk out when players took a knee. All of them stood during the anthem, with arms still locked.
Green Bay's nine-play, 75-yard march for the game-winning touchdown with 11 seconds left gave the Packers a 35-31 victory in Dallas and is the obvious choice for the Chevy Drive of the Week.
Jones stopped short of questioning the play call after the loss. "Period", Jones said Sunday night after his team lost to the Green Bay Packers. 'But if there's anything that is disrespectful to the flag, then we will not play. OK?
"Our vice president, if in his opinion, there's disrespect of the flag then he should express himself however he wants to say".
Now one owner - who happens to be friends with Trump - has publicly declared that his team's players are banned from protesting during the anthem.
Afterwards, Pence tweeted that he wouldn't "dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag or our National Anthem". Both are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Three Miami players who had been protesting during "The Star-Spangled Banner" were not on the field during the anthem this week.

Jones addressed the report that two players raised their fists following the flag ceremony on Sunday, but would not say if he had a problem with it.
"I look forward to the day when everyone in management can unite and truly embrace and articulate what the flag stands for, liberty and justice for all, instead of some of them just talking about standing", Smith said Monday, per the Associated Press' Schuyler Dixon (via the Washington Post).
Stephen Ross, who was an advocate for players protesting in the past during the national anthem, changed his views on the issue after comments Trump made saying players should be fired and referred to them collectively as "son of a b***h".
Ross asserted that the issue past year was raising awareness for equality and other subjects that did not involve patriotism.
